As you’ve probably guessed, this is the longest beach in the country, with a long 7 mile stretch of beautiful sand and bright blue sea. Out of the whole of Jamaica, this area probably has the best in terms of hotels and restaurants, with a wide variety of choice for those looking for somewhere to stay and to eat too. And as you’d expect, the seafood here is pretty excellent as well.

The area itself is also pretty good if you’re looking for other activities for your day too. It’s just off the strip here, so you’ll be able to check out a good variety of bars in Negril as well. When you’re at the beach, there’s also the opportunity to try out a ton of different watersports at the beach too.

The folk here are very friendly, and there’s a good atmosphere across Negril in general. So if you’re looking for somewhere in Jamaica to spend your holiday, and you want to spend it by an amazing beach, then consider coming here and staying just off seven mile beach.

Sandals Montego Bay Beach

If you want to catch some beautiful sunsets, then you’ll want to head to Sandals Montego Bay Beach. This beach is located on the North of the island, and it’s actually only just round the corner from Sangsters airport, which is another reason why it’s a pretty popular option.

This beach is actually part of the resort of the same name, so unfortunately it’s actually private to those staying at the resort (sandals). They only accept couple’s here, so it’s the perfect place to go away for a honeymoon.

As mentioned, the beach here is private, and therefore very secluded. However, if you don’t want to stay at the resort, then you could check out Dead End beach, which is just along the coast from this one. Obviously it’s a little busier, but it still has the same lush sand and beautiful views.

You can also catch some of the best sunsets that Jamaica has to offer from this beach too. So, if you’re looking for somewhere to go on the Northern coast of Jamaica, then maybe heading to Sandals Montego Bay would be a good choice.

Bloody Bay

Somewhere between Montego Bay and Negril on the North West coast of the island, you’ll find Bloody Bay. This is another popular beach here that has a good reputation, and is known for it’s clear waters.

These same clear waters make this an excellent beach if you want to find somewhere to go snorkelling or diving. Because the water is easy to see through, you can very easily find underwater marine left here. The water is pretty calm as well, which is one of the reasons it’s perfect for these activities.

One of the main reasons I’d recommend coming here over somewhere like Negril is that it’s going to be much less busy here. It’s a better option for those looking to have less tourists around them on the beach. And, you don’t really have to compromise on amenities here, because there are some good bars and restaurants here as well.

Although it’s some way down the coast from Sangsters airport, you can get here in little over an hour. So if you’re looking for something a little less populated, visiting Bloody bay is a great idea.

Frenchman’s Bay/Treasure Beach

Heading down to the South of Jamaica now, and here you’ll find Treasure beach, which is the general term used to refer to four bays; Frenchman’s Bay, Billy’s Bay, Calabash Bay and Great Pedro’s Bay. Out of the four, Frenchman’s bay has the best array of restaurants for you to choose from, with a good assortment of seafoods and other Jamaican cuisine. This is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

In general, the South coast is pretty impressive in terms of beaches, waterfalls and other natural areas. The community around this beach is pretty good too, with the local folk being friendly and welcoming to the area – plus, the locals tend to like Treasure beach too. Typically, this beach won’t be particularly busy when you visit. So, if you’re interested in seeing what more rural Jamaica is like and trying out some great food too, then check out Treasure beach.
