Treasure Cay beach

The Abacos are two small islands North of New Providence island, and actually just to the East of Miami. It’s made up of two islands – Great Abaco and Little Abaco.

And on Great Abaco island, undoubtedly one of the best beaches here is Treasure Cay. There are two main resorts which most people end up going to here – Bahama Beach club and Treasure Cay hotel, as well as an assortment of different villas and condos too.

Here, the beach is around 4-5km in length, and it’s filled with very fine white sand. This isn’t the most private of beaches in the Bahamas, but it’s unlikely to be packed with people like you might find on the busier islands too.

There’s a lot to do here, including all sorts of water activities. However, most of the people visiting Treasure Cay are coming here to relax, and you’ll find a good range for eateries and bars here to visit too. This is one of the best vacation spots in the Bahamas.

Tahiti Beach

If you’re after something more secluded on the Abacos, then you’ll want to go ahead and check out Tahiti beach. This beach is very isolated and not built up like other areas in the Bahamas, so if you’re looking to completely get away from everything, then Tahiti beach would likely suit.

Many cruises choose to stop near here, and for pretty good reason too. The surrounding coconut trees make the area feel like paradise, and for many of us, it’s more like something you’d see on a postcard than in real life.

Even though many couples choose to come here, it’s also a good destination if you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids. In the busier times of the year, you’ll even have a floating food and drinks bar pass through, which offers some great frozen drinks.

Many of the locals say that this is one of the most picturesque beaches in the whole of the Bahamas, and it’s difficult to argue against them.

Cape Santa Maria Beach

Located on Long Island in the Bahamas, Cape Santa Maria beach is said to be the best beach on the entire island. For many people, the beach resort that fronts onto the beach will be a tad expensive in price, though it is one of the best in the Caribbean.

The reason for the expense? Well, this area is definitely one to choose for those who are looking for somewhere secluded and away from the crowds. The pure white sand and turquoise water is what most of us dream of on a getaway.

The beach here is around 4 miles in length (6km), and the water is warm enough to relax in for an entire day, as it’s very calm too due it it’s cove location. You’ll also be able to witness some of the best sunsets the Bahamas has to offer here to.

Pink Sands Beach

The name sort of gives this one away, but Pink Sands beach is one of the more interesting beaches due to it’s pink color. It’s not the only pink beach in the world, with many of them being located in the Bahamas. But, this is one of the best known ones.

This beach is 3 miles long, and it get’s it’s unique pink color from the coral insects which have red shells themselves. Even in the hottest temperatures, the sand on Pink Sand beach will always remain as a cooler level, so you never need to worry about burning your feet.

The reefs also make this a pretty popular spot if you want to try your hand at snorkelling too, with a lot of interesting sealife lurking around in the waters.
