The boardwalk is filled with cafes, restaurants, and hotels catering to upscale customers to those looking for a more affordable abode. The beach is crescent shaped, so the water is calm and ideal for swimming. It’s always busy, so if you’re looking for a great time, Copacabana is your best bet.

Ilha Grande

Florianapolis

This cosmopolitan, massive island is home to almost over 42 beaches that has something for your every need. There’s Lagoa da Conceicao, a lagoon with soft white beaches and also softer waves. You can enjoy a yoga retreat, hiking, windsurfing and sailing here. If you’re more of a surfer, go and visit Praia Mole or Mole Beach, which is a tiny one kilometer beach with great waves.

It’s also great for snorkelling, and you can see the colorful tropical fish surrounding the reefs. This beach is regularly featured in tourist magazines, so you might want to get here earlier to beat the afternoon crowd.

You can stay at nearby hotels and humble accomodations and hire a small boat to go exploring, but stay away from protected areas because you don’t want to destroy its beautiful natural habitats. The beach is about 11 miles long, and you can also enjoy the local restaurants serving the freshest seafood in this area.
